Our Story
Belle is the result of our dreams and hard work. We will fill a much needed void for chic comfort food in Harlem. Our passion for great tasting food and impeccable service will set Belle apart. We will introduce a modern and creative vision on American comfort food. Our menu will closely follow the seasons and will be based on sustainable ingredients from local green markets, farms, and seafood purveyors. How Kickstarter works
Kickstarter is a new a creative platform for what is known as Crowd Funding. Kickstarter allows you to pledge funds to projects that you believe in. You become an integral part of the foundation of Belle. After we reach our goal we provide you with great rewards. If we don't reach our goal (but I know we will) you don't lose your money the funds are not released until the goal is met. You can pledge as much or as many times as you want so try all the rewards that catch your eye. Your pledges will help us with set-up costs, and buying equipment.
Belle will be located in the center of Harlem's restaurant row and within walking distance of other new and hot Harlem restaurants, bars, and lounges.
Chef Darryl Burnette brings Comfort Chic &10 years of experience to Belle. He received his culinary training from The Culinary Institute of America and worked under Marcus Samuelsson, Charlie Palmer, Jean Georges Vongerichten, and Andy D’ Amico. Darryl’s first Executive Chef position was as opening chef of 24 Prince. The New York Times said that he had “taken a well worn formula and given it some polish,” awarding them “Top Pick”. Chef Darryl spent 3 years helping to rebuild Bergdorf Goodman's BG restaurant. While working at Bergdorf’s he developed menus and catered private dinners for the fashions industry's elite. This hard work and leadership lead to BG Restaurant being voted OpenTable’s Diners' Choice as the number one on their list of Top 10 Best Lunch Spots.

One of the biggest challenges in any business is to provide a service or product that people embrace and return to over and over. Chef Darryl brings 10 years of experience in working with some of the top chefs in New York City and has helped to turn around several establishments and raise their profits. Harlem is missing great food accompanied by stellar service. The chef is not only amazingly creative in the kitchen, he has worked front of the house as well. Chef Darryl knows that repeat business is the key to success and will procure and train the staff to keep the guests coming back.
