There are more than 50,000 apps available for guitar players – everything from amps to sound effects to drum machines to chords, lyrics and tabs. At Sonic Clamp, our mission is simple – we want to help guitar and bass players access their apps. 

The patent-pending design of the Sonic Clamp allows you to mount your iPhone 4 and iPod Touch to your electric guitar or bass. That gives the guitar player full access to the touch screen without taking both hands off the strings. For the beginning guitar player, that could mean being able to watch a YouTube tutorial to finally get that song you’ve been trying to learn. For an intermediate player, it could mean visible access to chords or song lyrics right there on your guitar. And for the professional guitar player, it could mean controlling your amp through your phone, adjusting your monitor or incorporating drumbeats or synth sounds into your gigs.

Our product launched a few weeks ago at Summer NAMM 2012, one of the biggest music trade shows in the country. The response in Nashville was overwhelming. Six industry experts shopped for the top products and services at Summer NAMM and delivered their picks during "Best in Show".

Sonic Clamp was named Best in Show: Gotta Stock It category for being one of the hottest products of the year! 

Now we’re at Kickstarter to produce the first, full order of Sonic Clamps!

We are proud that the Sonic Clamp will be produced and packaged right here in the United States. The production process involves three parts – the iPhone holder, the moveable clamp (the small “front” piece that squeezes onto the guitar) and the fixed clamp (which supports the back of the guitar). The Sonic Clamp is made using ABS Plastic, which is the same plastic used to make Legos. Production will be handled by Production Plastics and Tooling in New York state. The components are engineered at facilities across the US.

Money raised from Kickstarter will pay for the tooling, material and production costs. Tooling and parts have been sourced through multiple vendors in the United States, as mentioned above. We have received production/tooling costs and lead times – so we’re ready to go! Once we achieve funding, we will finalize tooling in September 2012, start our production run in October 2012 and start shipping in November/December.
