Shortwave Society wants to rebuild and record a new album and needs support to make it happen! Are you in?

Greetings!  We are Shortwave Society. We make quirky music with quirky instruments. We've been touring for 2 years now. We are fun!



As some of you may know, our tour van was stolen in November.  It contained most of our musical instruments and equipment, as well as most of our cd's and merch. A total loss nearing $25,000.  We have been fortunate to have good friends help with donating equipment to play with, but we now have to figure out a game plan to Rebuild our sound and Record some new material!!



We are a "hands-on" kinda band - we like to create music and sounds with homemade synthesizers, found sounds, strings, samples, cheerleaders, and whatever else!



We've got a bunch of new songs to record, but with everything that has happened, we have no budget for new equipment or to fund this new record.  HELLO Kickstarter!  We're utilizing this fundraising site to reach out to you - our fans, friends, people who don't know us yet, but want to - all the wonderful people!!!



We are hoping to start rebuilding our instruments, replacing the stolen gear and book studio time in the Spring.  We have a lot of new material that we are really excited to record!!  However the financial burden of making a record for an independent band is more than you would imagine!!



We are anticipating the album to run between $6000-$8000 to record, mix, master, and duplicate.  



We've already had some donations coming in for the stolen equipment, which has been beyond amazing.  We are trying to replace our gear piece by piece, but we are looking at $7000-$8000 for the bare minimum to get enough to get by on.



We are so grateful for anything we receive, so we are setting our target goal low in hopes that we can cover at least some of these costs, but it would of course be amazing to cover it all!  



We have put together a bunch of incentives to help you help us. We've tried to create levels of giving, so that everyone can pitch in, whatever the amount! 



We are offering music, one of a kind handmade t-shirts, prints, art, dinner (that we cook for you!!), house concerts - you name it, we will offer it up in return for your amazing generosity.  Check it out!
