About the project

My name is Grigorij "Greg" Richters. I have been making movies since I was 6. So the question of getting a real job never occurred to me. I don't think I can do anything else but make movies. Please find some of my film samples below. This film is extremely personal to me. I discovered not too long ago what an incredible threat Asteroids, Comets and so called "space objects" pose to our planet. I came across that subject randomly while skimming though videos on Youtube. I saw this incredible animation of a 500 Meter wide space object that hit our planet (please watch my video to see it). Such an object would destroy our planet and heat it up to thousands of degrees of Celsius within minutes. And then I dug deeper and realized that even with today's technology we can only account for 40% of all objects coming towards earth and sometimes our computers even oversee a 100 or 500 Meter wide object. Scary, I thought. And the perfect subject for a movie, right? So I sat down and thought of a story around my research and this is what I came up with, enjoy:

The Story

Damon Miller is a young filmmaker who lives in London with his girl friend. She's pregnant. He's been fascinated by Asteroids and Comets. He is doing his research to find out more about possible threats from outer space, mainly to make a movie about this topic. One day he's invited to meet with a Government agency, the UK SPACE AGENCY. They tell him that the world will End in two months and that they are currently creating a video archive to preserve images from Earth before it's destruction. The planet will be hit by two Asteroids large enough to End life. Over the past years, several World Governments have come together and secretly built a space station that can house up to 100.000 people. They ask Damon to capture the last days on Earth on video, they are especially interested in people's reactions when they learn about the End of the world, a few days prior to impact. He’ll become the "Architect of the past" by making HIS view of the world, THE way future generations will see the people on Earth. What an absurd idea, he thinks at first. But in return he can choose 5 people to survive the Apocalypse and live in the space station. [It sounds like a far fetched idea. But think about it again. Wouldn't it be spooky and fascinating to see actual video footage from 65 Million years ago when the Dinosaurs were wiped out?
