Hey Chris, Indie Retro News wants to do a review of your game at some point, however still waiting for your twitter reply. Thanks mate :)

Hope you had a good holiday season. Can't wait to hear some more news about Spud's Quest.
Creator ChrisD on December 19
Sad to see Dizzy not making it, hopefully they won't give up on the idea completely :/
Creator Nathanael Page on December 14
Looks like Dizzy Returns won't be making it... bit of a shame that.
With that in mind, this KSer did really well- over half the backer that the Oliver Twins themselves managed to get. That's quite some feat!

I know you mentioned the Steam Greenlight link. Is there going to be any mention of your Indiegogo/Paypal for potentially finishing off the Sky Temple goal?
I saw a link for it somewhere, and at first I was afraid is was a scam because I heard no mention of it here. I did see the link for it on Greenlight after, so then I realized it was legit. Anyway, officially mentioning it may be helpful.

Inside 2 hours to get Alpha Colony funded & we're just $5k away - check it out now!! [Please.] FYI: It's an Exploration, Building and Trading Game inspired by M.U.L.E. available on PC, iOS & Andriod! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1547218311/alpha-colony-an-exploration-building-and-trading-g

Congrats on a successful KS campaign. While we didn't meet the goal for the Sky Temple, a small version (like you mentioned if possible) would be awesome. And maybe the possibility for expanding it later on when (no if's here) Steam gets it going and you get some revenue pouring in.
Creator JuanitaD-Obsidian Goat of AGL589 $7.77+8 on November 29
Congratulations!!!! Finishing the game ought to be a walk in the park compared to running a KickStarter. :) I look forward to taking Spud and Prince Charming to the end of their quest - or as far as I can get them before they suffer some horrible fate at my incompetant hands...
Creator ChrisD on November 29
Thanks all. Don't worry about upgrades etc I'll be putting calls out through updates when the time's needed. First off I'll get the forum running next month.
Creator db on November 29
Well done Chris- looking forward to the finished article.
Creator Nathanael Page on November 29
Hi Chris,
Really glad this one made it past the finishing line- even if it didn't cover your stretch goal. I really look forward to playing this game when you've finished it.
So tell us, how much are you looking finally get Spud's Quest completed? Bet you can't wait!
Creator Jelly Paladin on November 29
20% over the goal is an awesome end considering the long road to get here. This was my first UK backing (and so far my only one) and a well worthy pick it is. =)

Gotta see if we can get Alpha Colony (M.U.L.E inspired) over the line.

Man, with 6 hours to go I hope we can push up enough to get that Sky Temple. Still great that it got funded, though!
Creator Autoduel76 on November 29
I just heard about this and had to back it. Looks great. We need more of these kinds of games.
Creator Richard "AvatarIII" Barclay on November 29
Yeah, you have 6 backers at £35 that might up to £50 if you do a good t-shirt mock up.
I'm just glad I got into the £25 t-shirt tier before it sold out :D

Creator Belsameth on November 29
Throw up some example ideas at least. Hey, maybe it'll even have the effect of somke upping their pledge if they're exceptionally leet :)
Creator ChrisD on November 29
I was planning on getting some idea from the T-shirt backers what they'd want design wise when I got the forum up. Would you prefer artwork (I've not done much of it yet) or pixel art?
Creator Richard "AvatarIII" Barclay on November 28
Hi Chris, are you going to reveal the t shirt design(s) any time soon? I know there aren't many t shirt tier backers (only 10 of us?) but I'd still like to know what they'll be like.
Creator ChrisD on November 28
Thanks Daroh, that bug's also been fixed in the main game.
Creator Daroh on November 28
Just thought I'd mention, there's a room in the demo where you can drop a door on the upper area by hitting a switch with a tomato, if you move prince charming up the top, position him below the door then switch control back to spud, you can close the door on him, rising him up through the ceiling, taking him to a room with nothing but spikes which causes the game to crash (I wasn't attempting to do this, it just sort of happened...)
There were a few more areas I managed to crash in too, just wondering if you were aware of the first issue? Oh and grats for reaching the kickstarter goal :)
Creator ChrisD on November 28
@Tazi: Yeah good points. I did fix it in a later build of the demo so enemies would only respawn if Spud wasn't in the room, fixing the problem where people would flick back to Spud from frog and instantly get attacked.
@ deusx_ophc: Cheers :)
Creator Tazi on November 28
A thought about the respawning enemies: I think the best solution would be a midway between the two options. Enemies should respawn, but only if none of the two player characters are in the actual room(s), because that's the attribute which one could make it annoying. For example: you change back to Spud, then suddenly a bat hits you, because you left him in the wrong place. That's a bit unfair. Another example is, if there are puzzles where you have to switch between characters continously (both of them residing in different rooms), and there are enemies in one of the room. They will just break the flow of solving the puzzle, and that could be frustration.
But anyways, those are just my idead.
Creator deusx_ophc on November 28
hi chris - nice to see your game taking off =)
Creator ChrisD on November 28
A few have requested the inventory and action buttons be seperate, so hmm, maybe I will yeah.
I'm trying to keep the number of buttons used to a minimum, and since the demo people generally wanted seperate buttons for jump and change character, so at the moment it uses four. I don't really want to go over four buttons but I'll try and work something out- unless anyone has any ideas.
Creator Norm Huizenga on November 28
Hey Chris, just backed Spuds Quest last night after playing the demo (I only knew it was ending because I had it saved though, it's looked great from the start). Anyway my question is, I know you mentioned about controller mapping when the game is fully done, but will there be a way to separate the inventory/pop-up menu from the rest of the action functions. I pressed the X key multiple times near signs and wasn't in the right spot and the menu just kept coming up (maybe make the range for reading the signs larger too...). Just a thought. Can't wait to play it!
Creator ChrisD on November 28
I don't know what's harder, solving my puzzles, or making them :)

Creator JuanitaD-Obsidian Goat of AGL589 $7.77+8 on November 27
OK, just Googled it. Surprise, surprise! Windows uses XNA! Well, duh! *forehead smack*
Creator JuanitaD-Obsidian Goat of AGL589 $7.77+8 on November 27
I would love to see the sky temple, too. *crosses fingers*
BTW, what devices use XNA? I'm not familiar with that one. Of course, I guess I could stop being lazy and just go Google it...
Creator ☜☆RSF☆☞ MGT470 Virtuous Duck Merchant on November 27
Yes, less than 48h to go. Let's see if we can get a Sky Temple in the game!
Creator ChrisD on November 27
Sorry for the absence today guys I've had my head in the game. Thanks for the feedback on the enemy respawns I'll take it into account.
@Gordon: The software I use doesn't have the ability to port to mac at this time, only android, iOS, and XNA, After the game is all done though I would look into ways of getting it playable on other systems if possible.
Creator gandalf.nho - Weresheepjaguar Huntress on November 27
We are entering the last 48h, the reminder e-mail will bring more backers and hopefully we can reach the stretch goal, guess ChrisD is anxious for the opportunity to create the Sky Temple
Creator Gordon Sinclair on November 27
What is the score with a Mac version?
Creator StromIV - Mangy Weresheepdog of Sin on November 27
I keep reading the 55 hours remaining as 55 days... Silly me. I look forward to getting this. I believe we will get that Sky Temple yet.
As to respawning, if it isn't difficult to setup, then a toggle in the options would be the best implementation of it. If it is difficult to setup, then like Kris E mentioned, try doing a timer for X value (say 5 - 10 minutes) before the monsters on a cleared screen respawn.
Creator Chaz the Paladin on November 27
I think Juanita mentioned this before, but another potential option for the respawning enemies would be make it a setting that you can turn on and off. Something like the difficulty level. Respawning enemies is usually par for the course in Metroidvania games though. I like Kris' suggestions as well, that could also work.
