Expanding our slow food mission. Relocating our bakery to a more appropriate home. Expanding our offerings and creativity.

Farm to Hearth opened its doors in April of 2011. Since then, we have fallen in love with the small community that has supported us. Unfortunately, when our 1 year lease came to an end in March 2012, we were unable to negotiate terms in which we could agree to. We began to look elsewhere... Upon talking to our friends that have just recently took over Woodbridge Farm in Salem we found out that the old intern quarters was not only avalible for rent, but was zoned commercial as well...

Proposed Bakery Location - 22 Darling Rd Salem, CT
We contacted the owners of the property and inquired whether they were interested in us relocating our bakery to "the red house" and not only were they on board, but they began working with us to explore this option with the town government. So when we knew this could be a reality, we began to dream...

The location is set back from the road, with a rather large parking area. There is a decent sized yard that we plan on landscaping to put together a beautiful garden with outdoor seating. For those of you that know us, our oven remains outdoors and we bake outside. The yard offers plenty of space for this! We are picturing an outdoor oasis where families can come and wish to stay and play!

Why We Need Community Support
This move although ideal, was unplanned. Finiancially we are in no position to climb these mountians before us. Below is a short list of some of the of the projects we are going to complete with the money raised.
Plumbing - installation of commercial grade sinks for our kitchen and creating a unisex public restroom.
Electrician - instalation of commercial grade lights, exit signs
General- handicap access ramp, new entranceways, stone wall repair, landscaping, tree and brush removal, roofing patching, demolition.
Materials - lumber, construction supplies, fixtures, paint, plants, interior/exterior lighting, building materials, stone, and the list goes on and on.....
