Welcome to my Kickstarter Page!

My name is Scheherazade and I'm a singer~songwriter from the San Francisco/Bay Area excited and inspired to complete and release the CD & Music Video project entitled, "CHASING THE SUN".

In development for over a year, my goal is to finish the CD recording as well as to shoot a music video for the first single. The trilogy of original songs (Beyond The Stars, Chasing The Sun & Come To Me) are all lyrically interrelated and tied together by themes of lush, haunting melodics paired with driving beats. The projected music video as well as some of the others already filmed will lend themselves to a very stylized yet raw experience of story, sound & movement put to original music in an innovative fashion reflective of love, loss, power & gain. These songs as well as many more will be included on the completed CD, "CHASING THE SUN".

Traveling to Spain and working with producer Massivan planted the first creative seeds for this project and began the initial recording process. Though not ideal due to the distance, but still very much motivated, upon going back to the US, we continued collaborating and recording, tracking vocal parts here in San Francisco, and then sending those song files back & forth to Spain to be edited until the tracks were where we thought they needed to be musically.

In order to finish this project, the current funding goal reflects the absolute MINIMUM cost of completing the recording of a full CD, as well as filming costs for a music video at a still very economical, grass roots level. Recording, production, editing, mastering of both a CD and DVD as well as musician fees and costs associated with artwork and manufacturing, are all necessary components required to launch this creative endeavor successfully. 

As with the way Kickstarter works, all of this will be made possible ONLY if I reach my goal before the June 18th deadline, and it's an all or nothing effort, so if I can't raise ALL of it, I get none of it!  I can always raise beyond the goal as long it's before the deadline. If I surpass my goal then those additional funds too will be used for the completion of this project, so as you can imagine your support especially early on to help generate momentum, is crucial for the success of this campaign.
