We're raising money for the post production of our ambitious little film project called The Deception.  We shot this film in 26 days this past summer, with help from the Puffin Foundation and family & friends.

The Story:  The Deception is composed of two intertwining stories, one a gay coming-of-age story of a teenager nicknamed "Chip" and his first love; the second, that same character twenty years later.  Now called Christopher and in the closet, he wants a life in politics, and is about to run for the Maryland Senate with the help of his fiancée’s family -- one of the most politically connected in Washington.  But when Chris' first love resurfaces in his life, a man who re-ignites a passion in him, Chris’ carefully constructed world threatens to crumble around him.

We have set the "reserve" at the ridiculously low rate of $1500 to ensure we'll get the money, having been burned (it has to be said) by Kickstarter the first time we tried it, when our reserve wasn't met and we got none of the money that was pledged to us.

Post production is a very technical and expensive undertaking.  Please help us toward our goal if you can.

My experienced producer, Jerry Angelo:  Jerry owns Fire Born Films, a New Mexico-based production company, having produced and completed nine short films, including Honey and Babe in Christmasland (Audience Award, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Sound, 48 Hour Film Festival) Wynyouck (Official Selection of the Rome International Film Festival, Best Short nomination) and Prize (Official Selection of the Rome International Film Festival,) among other festival selections. Jerry’s feature film, 7 Dreams For 7 Nights, is in post-production.  He has also begun filming a webisode series, is the Line Producer to a new reality entertainment show in New Mexico titled Nuevowood, and created an outlet for independent New Mexico filmmakers to show their work on www.firebornfilms.com.   Jerry was elected into the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) as a producer, has benefited from Milagros at Luceros, is a six year member of SAG and AFTRA, and is on the board of New Mexico Children’s Film Ranch of Eldorado.
