Speaksie is a new software application being developed to help nonverbal adults and children communicate with the world around them.
Speaksie is a software application being developed for the disabled population who cannot speak, including those affected by Autism, Dementia, Lou Gehrig's disease, and many other conditions. In addition, this would allow deaf people to communicate with those who do not know American Sign Language. Speaksie will use a combination of pictures and words to allow the user to form sentences which are subsequently read aloud. This would allow a normally nonverbal person to hold a conversation with anyone around them, even if they are unable to type or read. We are looking to allow our application to be available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Android, and Windows with the ability to be used on a Smart Board also. We believe Speaksie could be a great addition to hospitals and special education departments in schools, as well as being used by families and individuals.
BELOW IS A VERY VERY ROUGH SKETCH. This is not what it will actually look like, I just did a quick drawing.
