WHAT IS THIS KICKSTARTER PROJECT?
This Kickstarter funds two short films...
"A Girl and a Gun” and “Great and Small”,
and teasers for the feature film "Diamond Dogs".
all written and to-be-directed by Eileen McQueen with DP Leland Krane.

WHY THREE SHORTS?
Although each of these three pieces comes from its own inspiration, the ultimate goal of this project is to demonstrate our abilities as a production team and our special vision for the feature film script “Diamond Dogs”, and with this, gain the enthusiasm and support of investors who will ultimately back the making of this film.

The short films will provide solid examples of our production style, storytelling abilities and creative vision. The teasers for the "Diamond Dogs" script will give potential investors a sample of how the script will translate to the screen in our hands. 

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH “DIAMOND DOGS”?
“Diamond Dogs” is a feature length script that tells the story of four teens and their summer jobs in the world of organized crime. It’s a comedy about friendship, money, video games and the American Dream.
The script has gotten descriptions like... “if Wes Anderson tried to make a Tarantino Film” or “Goonies/Super Bad meets Pulp Fiction”, but most certainly it's a modern American tale... funny, energetic, and thoughtful, with lots of delightfully-indie action and an endearingly flawed cast of characters. It gets a great reaction from readers, both of the film world and not, has rock solid marketability, and has created enough excitement to attract the support, personally and professionally, of experienced industry professionals, determined to see it become an actual feature length film.

AND WHAT ABOUT THE SHORTS?
The two short films...“A Girl and a Gun” and “Great and Small” are stand alone creative pieces from a collection of the director's short scripts. Intentionally simple, budget-conscious productions, they are driven by great characters that we’re certain will thrive on their own in these limited settings, allowing us to simply showcase the characters and their stories. Our aim is to craft two great looking, engaging and entertaining shorts worthy of festival submission.

“A Girl and A Gun”
A stylish little film about a girl, a small car crash, and the gun that it sends sliding to her feet. A story about possibilities. 

“Great and Small”
A ten year old artist vs. a small time criminal who thinks he’s an art critic...a little love song to unflappable youth and the dauntless creative mind.

WHO’S ON THE TEAM?
Writer and director, Eileen McQueen (Brooklyn, NY) has been honing this feature script for the past year and more, preparing it for its leap to live action, accompanied by test shoots to flesh out the characters and explore the energy of the film-to-be. With experience on the sets of short films, commercials and music videos, this is her first feature film.

DP, Leland Krane is a New York based professional with over 15 years experience as a cinematographer, producer/shooter and camera operator in film and TV. Owner of Cats Eye Films, some of his more notable projects include "Chappelle’s Show," the theatrically released film"Under Hellgate Bridge," and "Engaged and Underaged," for MTV.

And onboard as line producer is Kevin Fitzgerald, writer, director and producer for over 10 years. Also based in New York, he has a wide range of experience including director of short films, spec commercials and radio theater.

WHAT WILL THE MONEY DO?
Numero uno....rent a camera... an awesome camera, and other prorfessional camera and sound equipment, transport the cast and crew and put coffee and a bagel in their hands at 7 a.m. each day, pay for insurance, props, wardrobe, cast, crew, permits, lunch, service fees for transferral of money through this site, office expenses, promotional media and post production, or as much of this as the funding will allow.*

*With Kickstarter projects, funding is all or nothing, so we have listed our project’s funding goal on the lower end of what we will actually need to cover all production costs...to be on the safe side, and to get the project started regardless. $5000 is a more realistic amount, but $3500 would be a glorious gift and opportunity, and we would be delighted to reach this goal and get to work. This is only to say that any donations that take us over the goal will only bring things together all the more quickly and easily.
