"So You think You can Paint?" is a weekly (Thursdays) Art / Paint Event that occurs at Club Six in San Francisco.  The concept is simple:  We cover the club with blank panels and allow everyone to paint on the walls.  We provide the space, panels, brushes, paint supplies, and music.  The goal is to create as many community paintings between the hours of 6pm-11pm.  We started producing the event in December 2011, and the event has grown from 50 people, to now well over 400 people, now show up every week to paint.  The overall reaction has been very positive.  While Club Six has been supportive of this event (paying for most of the expenses), we would like to improve and provide what is needed to continue to produce this event. 

To produce this event we have to buy paint, supplies, paint over competed panels, take up and put down about 2000 feet of rugs to protect the floor, repaint the walls because paint drips from the panels and lots more.  The average time it takes to setup & break down is 20 hours with 3-4 people. 

We strongly believe this event should continue to be Free.It provides a much needed environment for  the community of artists, musicians, & anyone who likes to get creative, a place to go every week in a positive artistic environment.

What's Next

We are starting to use a second room at Club Six, where we hold Art Gallery events that feature Artists that have painted at the event.  This is a great opportunity for those undiscovered artists to be seen.  Also the room has a performance space in which we feature up and coming live bands.  We would also like to expand to a third room at Club Six to feature more artists, designers, bands, DJ's, etc.

A Little longer Term

We believe we can take "So you think You can Paint?' on the road.We would love to have the opportunity to take this event to every major city in the World and share the experience of Creative Expression with as many people as possible.Thank You for taking the time to get to know the event.We appreciate your support and if you're ever in San Francisco on a Thursday, please come down and paint.
