About this project
Our band K. is about *this* close to finishing up our third record, History Grows. We recorded and mixed the tracks, then two of us started having babies, one of us moved to the West Coast, next thing you know time has gone by and our record still isn't out! Now it's time to fix that. We think the songs are pretty darn good, and we can't wait to share them.
Here's our first-ever music video, of the song "Stevie," which is the first track on the record. The album includes six more all-new, original songs, and covers of "Baker Street" (yes, that's right, the Gerry Rafferty Band song), "For Me" by Julie Doiron, and a few secret mystery covers.
We plan on doing downloads and a limited number of CD's. Our goal of $650 will cover half of the estimated total costs of mastering and manufacturing.
We appreciate the support of anyone who helps out with this project. We have a wide variety of rewards: copies of the record, handmade spider robots, kites, and cookies, ultra-exclusive live concerts, and the chance to have a video or song crafted just for you.
Our first ultra-exclusive live show, for Kickstarter supporters only, will take place on Saturday, May 21, 7 p.m. Willie Mae Music Lab in Brooklyn. The next one will be this summer, date TBD.
We're really excited to be working on this, and we're so happy to have your help. Thank you!
How it works: Log in and enter the pledge that you wish to give. We have until June 14th (Karla's birthday) to reach our goal. If we DON'T reach it in time, you don't get charged and we don't receive any money. If we DO reach our goal by June 14th, your pledge will be processed and we will hook you up with the rewards!
