Sending out rewards in January

Hello wonderful supporters,

we have just received our check card and I am able to get full access to our funds and send out rewards to everyone, those who sent me your addresses will be receiving something in the mail in January as I will be out of the country for the rest of the month. In exciting news with our program we have just received a grant for a program in the city of Richmond Ca. An urban area in the bay hardest hit by violence. We are also in the process of getting programs up and running in Hayward Ca. and San Francisco. By the end of this school year we look to have 4 programs in full swing and are aiming for a dozen by next school year. Your support has been crucial in this process of growth, I look forward to sending you some of our students work in the new year!!

Well well well, thank you all so much for being a part of this mission. This wonderful step has led to a contribution of much creative energy into the lives of young people growing up in extremely difficult circumstances. We have conducted four days of workshops thus far with 16 classes and have collected 300 poems.

We will be having our first debut show on the 17th of nov!!!

It is a free event with performances from youth, touring professional poets and local poets. The show will be filmed and part of the student produced documentaries. For all those who can't be there we will send you clips or You tube Links.

This has been a wild journey, and the adventure is only beginning!

To take us out here is a poem from one of our students, his performance of this poem is amazingly strong. For any one in the Bay area on the 17th this show will be like a hearth in your chest,

Who I am

In the days of sadness

you wake up wondering

why is life like this.

Bad attitudes and horrible

behavior is all you see.

Treated like dirt is a

every day routine. Try to

look past it thinking

of the good times you had

and you wonder where have they

been. And you realize it wasn't

the people who made life

rough it was you. Feeling

sad for your self. Thinking

there's no way I can do this.

Hell no! My job is to make myself

happy before I worry about

other people. Making good

decisions in my life is the

key. Knowing who I really

need to be!

We are on the home stretch, Thank you all for coming together on this one. It is so beautiful when a group of people take a stand for something they believe in. We just collected $500 in checks so we are only about $300 away from our goal!!! This has been a wonderful and informative process. Any posting you can do or people you might know who would like to be a part of bringing this project into being. Please send this out to them.

We are getting there!!! We have run two workshops from school funding, there have been 100 student poems written during those two workshops. If any of the youth are agreeable I will post a poem in the next update. Thanks again for your support and the continued posting of this link!!!

Past the halfway point!!!

Hello lovely people. We have just passed the halfway point with a little less than two week to go. We will be sending out a newsletter with an update from one of the teachers we are working with. Thank you all so much for your continued support!! I know all of your lives are quite full, any where else you can post this link on line would be a tremendous help!!!
