About this project

For three years, Sharon Rosenzweig and Aaron Freeman have been collaborating on The Comic Torah: A graphic re-imagining of The Very Good Book. They've refined their story and characters as they posted them online each week.
Now, Ben Yehuda Press wants to publish The Comic Torah as a full-color book. We need to find enough fans and supporters to fund a first printing. This is your chance to pre-order The Comic Torah -- and show there's enough support to justify publication.
Here are some blurbs:
"Genius" --Douglas Rushkoff
"Awesome" --Alison Bechdel
"If God were a comic artist, this is what She would have drawn" --Harold Ramis
"It's apikorsus [heresy], but I like it!" -- Dr. Bertram Newman, father-in-law
But take a look for yourself. We've prepared a highlight reel of our favorite pages at http://benyehudapress.com/catalog/ComicTorah/ . You can also jump directly to this week's Torah reading at www.ComicTorah.com, or start reading at the beginning: http://afreeman.com/52portions/bereshit08.htm
Just a warning: If you are offended by graphic representations of the Deity, racially diverse Israelites, bloodshed, or idolatrous orgies -- then The Comic Torah is not for you. (Though in that case, we suggest you approach standard editions of the Torah with caution as well.)
If you're in the market for a fantastic, totally Torah-true, wildly memorable Bar Mitzvah gift, look no further!
If you want your name in the credits of a modern work of visual Midrash, you've come to the right place.
And if you'd like The Comic Torah to take its place in your graphic novel collection, show your support today!
Thank you!

I'm a Jewish educator and writer. I founded Ben Yehuda Press with my wife, Eve, to highlight exciting Jewish voices. I'm proud of our diverse list of books, which range from Jewish Renewal to Modern Orthodox to Atheist, and which include Torah study, science fiction, poetry, memoir, and scholarship.

We are the parents of five children, feeders of three cats, and caretaker of one snake (until our eldest daughter, now in college, finds herself in reptile-friendly living quarters again.)
