Monster Jam is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book and interactive app. With fun stuff to see and do on every page, it's perfect for teaching and entertaining ages 4-9!
Picture Book
The book consists of 20 highly detailed full color illustrations featuring cool characters, accompanied by an intriguing, thoughtful, and exciting story that will get your youngsters talking!
App
The app will consist of an original musical score to highlight the rock music theme of the story. Features include Read to Me, Read By Myself, and loads of fun interactive animation and sound. Monster Jam will be available for sale on iPad, Nook Color, and Android tablets.
OUR PURPOSE
With the advent of electronic games, kids are filling more and more of their time with things that won't always stimulate their brain in positive ways. We seek to encourage more voluntary reading among children. Apps and traditional books are a dynamic duo; one draws kids into the world of reading with appeal, and the other encourages a lifelong love of books. Monster Jam's fun features and great story will get kids reaching for books the way they do for games!
THE INSPIRATION
Monster Jam was inspired by my own little Rock Star who loves singing and playing the electric guitar. Recently, he put aside his guitar (and anxiety!) to sing the lead at a music festival.
THE STORY
The main character Axe, has big dreams of being a rock star. He is one step closer to success when his band, the Ground Hogs, are chosen to perform in the annual monster jam. Things start falling apart when the lead singer loses her voice a few days before the show. The Ground Hogs must find a replacement singer fast. Let the auditions begin! Will they find the perfect monster in time?
This book is about reaching for the stars and finding fulfillment no matter what stands in your path. Axe has the courage and drive to follow his dreams, and in the process, learns the important lesson of working around life's many obstacles.

Author: Michelle Anaya has loved reading children’s books from childhood and still does. Blue Sandpiper imprints was created by her to publish picture books & digital book apps. Michelle is the author of Grendel’s Great Escape book app. Her graphic print design expertise and love of color ensure that her picture books and apps are visually stimulating. A relatable story and engaging digital interactivity, crafted by Michelle, will keep children entertained and asking to read Monster Jam time and time again.
Illustrator: Victor Guiza has over 28 years of experience as a Creative Development Designer. He has a true passion to create! He has worked in comics, animation, advertising, children's books and toys, illustration, design and development for top animation and publishing companies around the world. Vic has won numerous awards for superior illustration in the fields of animation, books and apps. Victor brings the Monster Jam characters to life and adds a fun and playful quality that all children will enjoy.
Music Composer: Negotiations are in the works to have the original musical score created by the award winning children's composer, Mark Henderson. The music is yet another layer that will enhance children's immersion with the app and set a positive and uplifting tone for the story.
GOALS
By tapping into children's attraction to interactivity and digital media, we seek to encourage more voluntary reading among youngsters. To do this, we must reach our funding goal.
Achieving the funding goal will cover illustration and publishing costs for the first 100 books, as well as narration, original music, and animation for the app. Any money beyond the target goal will be used for marketing and printing additional books at lower per unit costs.
I've self-funded the first portion of the illustrations, but with your pledges, this book app and combo can see it's way into stores!
This is an all or nothing fundraiser. If our goal has not been reached in 30 days, you will be charged nothing. I hope that you'll be inspired to help me in this challenge. STRETCH GOALS
If our project is overfunded, the excess funds will be used for the following:
1. Marketing costs.
2. Bulk production of the book will lower printing costs and allow us the privilege of giving back. Elementary school libraries, after school programs, and children's hospitals will benefit from a donation of books and apps.

This Book & App will be produced by the expert programmers & printers at Dragonpencil/Bigtent Books. These accomplished professionals have years of expertise and have produced award winning Books & Apps.
Our estimated launch date is March 30th, however delays can occur due to the following:
1: Additional Illustrations might be needed in final stages for animation and to convert the book Illustrations to the digital tablets dimensions.
2: App review & launching. Backlogs can occur due to the number of apps being submitted during the same timeframe to the online store.
In any project there can be unforeseen issues or delays but the professionals working on Monster Jam are thoroughly qualified and have contingency plans in place to bring this project to completion.
