Hello all my wonderful supporters!
Thank you again so much for helping me out on my project. I wanted to let you all know where I stand with the production of my film. Right now, I am currently in the "pre-production" phase of things, that is I am spending time identifying interview subjects, reading and researching, writing a treatment, finding grants and applying for additional funding, and creating a production timeline. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with a Choctaw scholar in Lincoln, Nebraska who has agreed to be interviewed for the film, and this past Friday I presented this shorter version of the film (a work in progress) at the Native American Film Festival and Symposium at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. I've also bought a camera, which is very exciting, and makes the actual production side of things a reality!
Since this is my thesis film, I foresee the FINAL project completed by either the end of the Fall 2012 semester, or perhaps even Spring 2013 (but hopefully it won't take that long!). I am working right now pretty much full time, so unfortunately cannot devote all of my time and attention to the project, as much as I would love to. So, slowly but surely I move forward on my journey to complete my film, and degree!
Thanks again for believing in me, and my project.
