About this project
After releasing "Krotona" in 2009 and "Seeds in the Street" in 2010, The Diamond Light are set to record their first full length album. With almost 30 tracks to work with we are honored to be working with the world renowned producer Niko Bolas and "Seeds in the Street" co-producer Joseph Holiday. Instead of renting a studio and having limited time, Niko will be transforming our manager's house in Laurel Canyon into a studio for the month of October. This means we'll need to get some new gear to make this possible.
We are so fortunate to have the pro bono support of an a-list producer and a great space to record in, but we need your help to raise some crucial funds to buy preamps, mics, etc to make this possible. Every dollar you are able to contribute will go directly into transforming the house into a studio and bringing you a collection of our best songs recorded by a true master. We'll be filming and sharing every step of the process and you'll be able to join us in the unique process of making a record from start to finish. We know times are tough, but every bit helps. THANK YOU!

Los Angeles rock and soul band The Diamond Light formed over long summers and weekly blues jams in their home state of New Hampshire. Singer and guitarist Griffin Young began writing songs with drummer Ian Ochs almost ten years ago in Ian's father's band. Playing together in bars with their parents throughout High School, they eventually paired up with bassist/vocalist Brian Stanley as the band Rosaline. In 2007, the band began to make their way West, with some of the band stationed in Phoenix and others in California. Eventually, all of the members found their way to Southern California. Changing styles, the band became The Diamond Light and released their debut EP “Krotona” in the summer of 2009. Named after the monastery-turned-apartment complex Griffin and Brian called home, the EP was produced by neighbor and mentor John Chelew at Pacifica Studios in Culver City, CA. The release led to a Pacific Northwest tour in the fall of '09 and garnered support at college radio along the way. This year, The Diamond Light are out to claim every dive-bar, boulevard, and junk yard. Their electric live performances have been fueling a growing fan base with regular headlining shows at every major club in L.A. Their self produced second E.P. “Seeds in the Street” was selected by Extreme Music and MTV for their Hype Music partnership and has been licensed by MTV, USA, the 2011 Emmy’s and more. They are currently recording a debut LP with “The Volume Dealer” Niko Bolas set for a 2011 release.
“...the truth that is realizable in a dead man's bones and is beyond the Tree of Buddha as well as the Cross of Jesus. Believe that the world is an ethereal flower, and ye live! I knew this! I also knew that I was the worst bum in the world. The diamond light was in my eyes.”.. - Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums
