Thank you all for getting as excited about Une Bobine as we are! We appreciate all of the pledges, comments, and messages as we work to bring you the best product we possibly can.
USB Extension Cable
We are pleased to let you officially know that every Une Bobine and Petite Bobine that ships will include a 3 foot (90 cm) USB extension cable! Thanks for helping us get there! Many of you have requested photos of the cable. Because we specified precise wire gauges and a white cable, it is taking a little longer to get the samples from the factory. But we will post photos as soon as we receive and test the samples.
Packaging
It seems like years ago that we posted the first packaging concepts, but it was only a few short weeks. Watch for some teasers for the new packaging design in this update video and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Next Steps
Because you greatly exceeded our expectations for when we would hit the previous stretch goal of $90,000 for the extension cables, we weren't quite ready to let you know what we had planned next. That is why this update took a few extra days. If you haven't figured out, we love making videos. So instead of a simple announcement, we are giving you a behind the scenes peak into the project to make the announcement. All video footage was shot today during our 'Kickathon' (our Kickstarter version of a hackathon). We didn't want to let this announcement extend into the weekend, so we set a goal from 12:01AM to 5:01PM EST to finalize all remaining details. It has been a long day, but we made it.... so take a look at the video below to see what happened!
More details will be posted in the FAQ at the bottom of the project page over the next few days.

@Adam - Someone asked a similar question on the main comments page. Here is a copy of my reply:
Right now, there are probably 5 people at Apple that actually know what the next connector will be... if it even will be different. So this is purely speculation at this point, which makes it really difficult to say if we'll have an adapter, a new version, or something else. But whatever we do, we will try our best to make sure our Kickstarter backers get some sort of discount on whatever we come out with.

Rahul, The extension cables are similar material to your standard USB or iPhone cable. They need to be completely flexible since they will mostly be used to extend from the Bobine around a desk or table to the computer or wall charger. They are removable from the Bobines so that you can use it with or without the extension also.

Oh okay, so If I get the Petite Bobine, then will the extension cable be like an addition to it? Like will be the same material and type like the petite?

Rahul, you can use it like this. We would recommend using the Petite Bobine for this purpose instead of the longer Une Bobine. However, we suggest it isn't used like this for extended periods of time without resting on another surface. That is a lot of weight hanging sideways on your USB port. If you have a vertical USB dock or hub, that would support it much better to not have it rest on the table.

Hans, Some of the guys here have Android, so they use it for their phone. But I actually use my Micro|USB to charge my bluetooth headset! Keeps the cable clutter off my desk.

One question, when Im on a laptop does the Une Bobine have to rest on a table? Like if I'm using my laptop on a chair does it put any force on my laptop's USB port? Will it stand on its own?

Thanks Clive! We're pretty excited too! We had this in mind from the beginning, but the Micro|USB jack presented some problems. Because of its size, you can't just plug in old cable and expect it to hold the phone well. It probably wouldn't fall off of a standard cable, but it does shake around some. So we took the time and designed an entirely new Micro|USB housing design that makes the connector a lot more stable than it otherwise would have been.
