Packaging Design
It's been a flurry of activity here today and we thank everyone for getting us so far along on day one!
We have been working a lot on the packaging design and would like your input. Please take a look at the packaging concept on this update and let us know your thoughts in the comments. We would love to have your feedback to make everything about this product exactly what you want, all the way down to a great package!
You can see a higher resolution image here.
Thanks,
Jon

@Andrew - this is an older design. Take a look at the video on this update: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/382469225/une-bobine-for-people-who-love-iphone/posts/234401
This shows some shots of our latest packaging design after we had a lot of feedback.

it looks like anything you buy out of an electronics store
Creator Jon Fawcett + [Fuse]Chicken on May 18, 2012
Thanks for all of the feedback. We are prototyping a 'proper box' now.
Creator Andrea Raiconi on May 15, 2012
+1 for a proper box if you are still debating on this! An iphone-like box would be perfect, but something similar to the Amazon "frustration-free" cardboard boxes could also be nice. You could print some figures illustrating the product in action on the box.

Packaging does not show the unique nature of how this cord can be utilized at different angles for support of phone
Creator Chris @ BiteMyApple on May 9, 2012
No plastic....
Creator Sue on May 7, 2012
I think you should have of picture of the bobine in use. It's not really obvious how to use it or what it's good for.
Creator Matthew Deloughry on May 7, 2012
I do agree that the plastic packaging with cardboard does look like a "Knock off" product, I would say a box is better suited for this packaging.... think the iPhone packaging style.
That or if you are to go with the plastic route, how about the plastic packaging that sandwiches the product and a inlay, not sure what they are called but the packaging where you have that it pretty much impossible to open by hand and need scissors.
Also for the design I think it needs to obvious what this product actually does looking at the above image to me just make it look like any other iphone cable and doesn't show the products true potential.

I love the ideas and appreciate the feedback! I think we're going to have a ton of things to try out and show you guys over the next few days.
Creator Jan Peter Alberda on May 7, 2012
Well, here are my, slightly direct, two cents:
The rolled-up coil in front of the printed one looks strange.
When the 32-pins connector doesn't fit in to the printed iPhone, it looks off.
The plastic cover of the packaging makes it look like a cheap Hong Kong knock-off.
If you want to go the clear plastic route: might as well roll the coil up completely. And make the name "Une Bobine" much bigger.
Personally I think a box (natural color I'd think) would look better, with an illustration at the front. And with BIG letters the name on it.
Creator Jon Fawcett + [Fuse]Chicken on May 7, 2012
Thanks Eugene. I'll try to mockup that to show everything.
Creator Eugene Choi on May 7, 2012
Not sure I can articulate this...but the product kind of blocks out the picture on the packaging. Maybe only have the iPhone picture on the packaging and make the product look like it plugs into iPhone. Just my 2 cents.

Kishor,
I will have iPod touch photos on the coil tomorrow morning.

Jan, thanks for the honest feedback. Would you prefer to see a box? Clear, printed, something else?
Thanks,
Jon
Creator Jan Peter Alberda on May 7, 2012
Sorry, but this looks cheap...
Creator Kishor on May 7, 2012
I think any compatible Apple product can be mention in the cover.
Creator Kishor on May 7, 2012
Does it only work for iPhone or also work for other Apple gears like iPod......... ????
