Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read about my latest CD project! I'm so excited about the songs on this record! They are a collection of pop/rock "story-oriented" songs and are directly inspired by my own experiences and/or by the direct observations of people I've encountered over the past few years. The recordings of the songs have come out very well and hold particularly special meaning to me because they were all recorded in my own studio! Having my own professional space to record in has been a lifelong dream and a few years ago I was able to finally make it happen.
The reason I'm trying to raise funds on kickstarter is because I have simply run out of money to keep going. Building the studio was a very expensive endeavor, especially for a working musician. I still need to be able to get the songs mixed, mastered, replicated, and (if I'm really lucky) have something left over to promote it. I've had a world-class mixer mix one of the songs on spec already, and believe me, it sounds amazing! He has been mixing for 25+ years on projects for some of the biggest names in the business, and I would love to hire him to mix the rest of the songs, as well.
I've thought of some prizes for different levels of donors that you'll hopefully think are pretty cool (they are listed on the right side of your screen). Although large donations are certainly welcome and appreciated, I think it would be great if many of you donate at the $10.00 level, which would simply be like pre-ordering the CD in advance. That's all I'm really hoping for, and any larger donations would simply be amazing. The way kickstarter works, however, is IF I don't reach my funding goal by the deadline (Oct 27), all funding that has been pledged will be refunded and the project fails. So, could you help me by forwarding the link to my kickstarter page to anyone you think might want to hear and support some great new music??!!
