About this project
Being an artist living with three Labador Retrievers it's just normal to be painting them. I also wanted to make a difference somehow, so contacted Lab rescues, painting their Labs, then selling the artwork giving a percentage to the rescue. http://savingalabaday.blogspot.com
My Kickstarter Project is to raise funds for the Heart of Texas Labrador Rescue. www.hotlabrescue.org The Kestral Fund for Labradors helps those in extra need before they can go onto their forever home. So many come in hurt needing operations, heartworm medications or worse. During the past year HOTLAB rescue has taken in several dogs who would have otherwise been put down. There was Lance, who was use as a bait dog for fighting dogs, Besty required skin grafts on her elbows, Phoenix, who had a shattered rear leg and Malibu, who was shot in the shoulder. If HOTLab had not stepped in each of these dogs would have ben put down and now they have a new lease on life.
Why is it called the San Antonio Project? Because it is timed out such that we can present the proceeds at a Fund Raiser they are having in San Antonio on November 7, 2009 at the Fairmount Hotel. So please join me in helping this most worthy organizations.
