Roots

Geocashing is a fun and adventurous pastime in which the players hide and hunt for booty that is cleverly hidden from plain view. Using GPS players make their way to geographic coordinates and locate the cache of Booty. Until recently players had to physically hide their cache (or as we like to say "Booty") in a clever and concealed manner. Now players can hide virtual booty in plain sight right from their Android or iOS device using Geobooty the Geocashing game you can play anywhere.

The Game 

Geobooty allows you to virtually hide and find digital treasures at any location you can physically reach. These treasures can be MP3's, Videos, Pictures and Text files. Simply reach a location, log into the app and stash your virtual booty. After you have hidden Booty you can notify friends via Facebook, sending them in search of your hidden stash. If you're feeling a bit adventurous use the Geobooty app to search for hidden Booty using the on screen map.  Once you reach the booty simply select the "reveal Booty button" and view or listen to the hidden treasure. 

To add an interesting twist to your experience caches can be locked using a riddle. When you stumble across a cache that is locked with a riddle simply solve the riddle by entering the correct information on screen and reveal the hidden Booty.

Quests can be created by stringing together several different caches of Booty. Each cache represents a waypoint which must be reached before the next waypoint is revealed. A Quest is an excellent setup for a bar crawl, arts walk, or simply a fun weekend adventure. 

Winning

Play for points, or just for fun, there is something for everyone!  

Winning the game means playing the game. Rack up experience points by hiding Booty, solving riddles, and completing Quests. Experience points can also be obtained by creating the longest Quest by distance, creating a Quest with the most waypoints, and by completing limited time Quests.
