About this project
In the fall of 2010, I did a photo shoot with the 1959 Edsel that appears in the calendar with a friend of mine. While on the shoot I'd decided to wear a vintage dress myself so that the model could take some pics of me with the car as well. She did and I posted the pics on facebook. One of my friends that I met while working on The Conspirator, the previous year commented that it would be an awesome idea to shoot an entire calendar with vintage cars and girls dressed in clothing that matched the time period.
Well, I went with it and have spent over a year contacting models, finding awesome vintage cars at car shows and working with great hair stylists and make up artists. Each shoot provided its own challenges - getting the clothing, hair and makeup and locations right. However in the end, I came up with some amazing photos and met some great people!
My original idea was to get people to put ads in the calendar to cover the cost of printing but I only got my one most dedicated backer to do this which is why I've come to Kickstarter.
The calendar will not be able to get published without your help. My 16 models, 13 car owners, 4 hair stylists, 3 makeup artists as well as everyone's friends and family are all anxiously awaiting the time when they can see the printed, final product.
An alternative plan that I had to get it printed came and went and isn't going to work out.
I have worked SO HARD on this and don't want to disappoint any of these wonderful people who donated their time and sometimes money to help make these photos happen.
I believe the calendar is a great reflection of older times in Savannah and the photos are like looking into the past, but in full color.

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and moved to Savannah, GA to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1997. I earned my BFA in photography in 2001 and then worked for the college taking photos for them for three years following. I trained under some of Savannah's best photographers and also did an internship with Mitchell Kearney in Charlotte, NC.
After working at SCAD, I started my own business, now called Lizard Eye Photo www.lizardeyephoto.com
I shoot primarily portraits and weddings and occasionally commercial photography.
I love living in the Coastal Empire, with my husband and our cat.
While telling you I like music and movies etc, like everyone else would be true....I will tell you something more interesting. I enjoy digging antique bricks out of the marshes with some of my friends, eating violet or lime flavored candy and helping lovely ladies find the wedding dresses of their dreams in my friend's bridal boutique in downtown Savannah. And oh yeah, taking pictures of things!
