Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all the support, and the kind words as the kickstarter rolled to a close. Worry not, I will finish this game, its just going to be a lot tighter on the finances. But hey, thats what being indie is all about, and there are a lot of insanely talented indies out there making it happen on budgets that are far lower then my own out of pocket funding. So prevail I will. Good news is that I'm pretty sure I will be showing at the mega indie booth come PAX East. By then the game will be in a far more advanced state.
AND WHOA!! thanks to the last minute backer who dropped 10,000 on the project, it means a lot to me, and thanks again to everyone who showed there support. I am sad to see this not hitting its goal =(
If you do a relaunch, i will pledge again, the concept is solid and the graphics are good in my opinion.
Only 3 updates and hardly media coverage, combined with a short running time, and the E3 and other big Kickstarters at the same time are most likely the reason why it didnt met the funding goal.
I hope to see this game neverthless someday soon on my harddrive, consider adding it to Steam Greenlight, for coverage at least. Good Luck!

Thanks for the kind words, the success of the kickstarter pretty much comes down to press. Republique made their mark because the press rallied behind them at the last minute. If GameTrailers.com or heck even Indiegames.com plugged the trailer. It would possible to raise 25,000 in 48 hours.

Tyler, it's good to know that even if the Kickstarter doesn't fund you'll keep working on the game. I'll be keeping an eye on the title. You put together a killer team, it deserves to see the light of day.

Miguelito: Thanks for the comments, I will finish Rack n Ruin if I don't hit my funding goal. Its going to be a bit tighter money wise, but I'm hard at work as we speak punching out asset after asset. I think I should have had a larger twitter and facebook presence pre launch. I have been trying to get press bumps but its a bit tricky once you see just how many kickstarters are launching each day. And most of these projects look fantastic. And yeah Rack's face would have made better thumb nail then the logo....

Brandon: I have considered Ouya, but I don't want to promise something until I'm certain its something I can support. I will need to get access to dev kits, and take the time to consider the platform. But yes it is certainly exciting to see open platforms perform well.

Tyler, your art is great. Unfortunately, graphic art is the only thing that can be conveyed somethat succinctly in these KS project presentations, though I'm sure other parts of the project will be perfectly up to it, if not more.
Don't be discouraged if this doesn't work out. Things like a lack of "virality", bad luck, and yes, a bad choice of thumbnail/summary blurb (as ridiculous as it will seem, sorry!) will do these things to a project.
For what it's worth, I'm hoping you'll continue with the development no matter what. I'm really excited how the art will coexist with the writing, and what characters you'll end up building.
Perhaps if you follow a more traditional venue of indie development, now that the Kickstarter trend seems to die down, you'll be able to feel more comfortable. There's a ton of indie bundles where you could make your debut, after all!
