This spring The Katydids are teaming up with local director Matt Miller for a new web series set in a suburban elementary school.
TEACHERS is an original web series slated for release mid-summer 2012. Conceived by Matt Miller and The Katydids, TEACHERS chronicles the misdeeds and awkward interactions of six mid-western elementary school teachers just tryin' to help the next generation learn all about the American Revolution. And the pitfalls of internet dating. And anal bleaching.
Production is already well underway: scripts are in process, a director of photography has been hired, and locations are being scouted. The shoot is tentatively scheduled for early June in Chicago. Exciting!
And here's where you and your generous monetary donations come in...
The big expenses for this production are the location (we're hoping to shoot in a real school building) and the production/photography team led by the talented Joel Moorman (Digital Content Producer at Steppenwolf Theatre) who will be shooting and editing the project with Matt. We'll also need to purchase some basic general liability insurance for the shoot and some other production related expenses (props, costumes).
The Katydids last video received plugs from MTV, The Huffington Post and Perez Hilton. We're trying to take advantage of that momentum and make this next project as funny and sharp as it possibly can be. Help us make you laugh!
