Thanks for a great kick-off!
W00t! What an amazing first weekend! It’s fabulous to see so many new faces (and new names next to little blue boxes) Supporting ODE.
We are so grateful to those of you who shared the campaign with your followers-- we would not be where we are if the campaign had not been picked up by Makezine, Adafruit and countless other blogs--not to mention all the tweets, Facebook posts and Google + links! You all are so awesome--please keep telling your like-minded friends about what we are trying to accomplish together. With your help we will meet our goal with time to spare.
I also wanted to let you know about some of the great conversations being held about the project elsewhere on the web.
This conversation started by Erin Robot Girl on Google + is the winner of the “most commented post” award: https://plus.google.com/103859804271148784524/posts/HS3GtsoQD3Q
Mach 30 President, J. Simmons, also has two posts about ODE on Google +. Since Google+ is his social network of choice, chances are good you’ll see more posts there in the future, so you might want to add him to your “open hardware” circle: https://plus.google.com/117228757053953679854/postsFinally, there is a companion blog post on the Mach 30 website here: http://mach30.org/2011/09/23/an-urgent-need-in-open-source-hardware/.
If you know of conversations I’ve missed, please leave a comment with a link--we (and by we I mostly mean J. Simmons, the President of Mach 30) would be happy to stop by and answer any questions you might have about the project.
You can also always send us a message or leave a question in a comment here on Kickstarter.
I plan to do updates like this one here about once a week. If you’d like more frequent progress reports, follow Mach_30 on Twitter or “like” our Facebook page. Rest assured it will be hard to shut me up about the project in those venues.
Thanks again for your support--ODE won’t be possible without the support of the Open Hardware Community!
Best,
Maureen
P.S. If in addition to supporting open hardware in general, you are interested in open source spaceflight hardware, we’d love for you to join our mailing list, and/or follow the OSSHW (Open Source Spaceflight Hardware) community on Reddit.
