About this project
San Francisco is a city of filmmakers and film aficionados. It is also a city of designers, taste-makers, and fashion lovers. In the Spring of 2012, film and fashion (and fun) will unite at the inaugural San Francisco Fashion Film Festival.
Offering a well-edited selection of independent, documentary, and Hollywood films, FashFilmFest will present both unexpected titles as well as time-honored classics. Some of the best examples of costume, set design, storytelling, and cinematography will be explored in the dramatic film category. Stories of the designers and artists who shape the world of fashion and style will be showcased through documentaries. We recognize the deep reserve of stories that there are to tell about the world of fashion and style, and look forward to hearing and sharing diverse perspectives. As such we invite independent filmmakers to submit their work (through the FashFilmFest website). The goal is to feature films that have inspired trends, beauty, design, and culture, and give attendess insight beyond the usual standard bearers of Hollywood and grant access to the creators and influencers who have affected style through film.

Local style bloggers Adelle McElveen, Kimara Mitchell Stokes, and Annie Wilson, co-founded the San Francisco Fashion Film Festival in late 2011 in an effort to provide a gathering that answers San Francisco’s love of design, style, fun, and film. The co-founders are proud to launch this festival in their beloved city of San Francisco - a city of filmmakers and film aficionados, designers, taste-makers, and fashion lovers.
