A Jessica Rollins Album

Just a quick update AND exciting opportunity for you;)

Kevin and I have settled down in sunny Fort Lauderdale nicely. We are so thankful to God for His provision and guidance during this whole transition process. And boy, it surely has been an incredible roller coaster ride! Kev and I felt God calling us to move to Florida to be a part of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale.

Over the span of about a year of much prayer and petition, the Lord proved Himself faithful to guide and provide for us to be able to do so. We made the move November 5th of 2011, and God has graciously confirmed the decision.

While selling printing and promo products for Next Play (promo company that he co-owns) he is also blessed to be the new Young Adult Director/Pastor at CRPC. Which is pretty cool considering our past in youth and college age ministries when we were in Conyers. We can definitely see that the hand of God has prepared both of us for this particular task of coming along side of 20 and 30 year olds and encouraging them in the grace and knowledge of the Gospel. We are reminded so often of every one who came along side of us as mentors, teachers, and friends. We are so grateful for that precious path in which God led us! There are many great needs here and we are strengthened by living our lives submerged in the power of the Gospel of Christ.

I am blessed to be able to "help-mate" Kevin with his "full plate", and to be able to volunteer on the worship team at church. I am so very thankful to be able to minister in this area because you all know that music is woven into the fabric of my being!

With that said, I wanted to tell everyone that I have been able to write a lot of songs over the years and have been desperately desiring to share them with others. And to my amazement, God has graciously connected me with some wonderful people that want to make that happen:-)

It's a pretty cool story, but just out of the blue, (by God's sovereign hand of course) Kev and I went to a house concert here in Fort Lauderdale, and met a guy from Nashville who wants to record some of my tunes. It is totally a God thing that we could have never produced or manipulated on our own, so we are so stoked!

His name is Jeremy Casella and he lives in Nashville! Kev and I will be traveling to the recording studio there for about 6 days and will be blessed to use top notch musicians on the record.
We decided to use kickstarter to help us fund this project because we thought it would be a really cool way to let others be involved in the excitement, and also allow us to be able to afford it by the deadline;-)

You all know my heart, and my deep desire to encourage others of the hope, love and power of Christ that liberates our lives from the bondage of sin and death. It is that message that will always be the underlying rhythm in every song I write.

So thanks for loving us, encouraging us, mentoring us, teaching us, guiding us, and supporting us!

We miss seeing our dear friends and precious family! We miss being in the same town! We miss volleyball parties at Rollins Beach! There is volley ball here and lots of people to play, but the beach is just a tad bit larger and has an ocean next to it!

Here's the deal, and there is a bit of urgency:

We need to have $10,500 by February 10th, or the money doesn't go through at all!

The cost of the entire 10 song album project is closer to $15,000.
But we set the goal lower because of the kickstarter rule: if you don't make the goal, you get nothing!

So, if you would like to help us raise money to make this album, the time is now! The February 10th deadline is so close!!! The song material has been prepared and our friend from Nashville is ready and waiting to produce and record it. It is going to be great:-)

Who will be involved with the music project?

Producer: Jeremy Casella with Saint and Pilgrim Music in Nashville. (Opening act for the Caedmon's Call 'Share the Well' tour. Signed as an artist to Universal Records. Recorded with producer Monroe Jones and the Blind boys of Alabama.)
The musicians lined up for the album are some of the top session players in Nashville. Here's a run-down of the list to give you an idea:

What kind of music do you play?

I'm a rap artist. Just kidding. I'm an acoustic rock kind of girl. This album will be pretty guitar driven but kind of mellow. It will be faith based lyrically, but not too mainstream christian. Will include songs about life, love, suffering, heartache and hope!! Nice for any and everyone, what ever the environment!!! (well, maybe not a dance club:)
