I just wanted to post an update about my Joshua Tree project. I recently got back from the Contact Photography Festival in Toronto where I had an opportunity to speak with museum curators and photo editors about the work. It was all very encouraging and I just put up the body of work on my website. please take a peek! http://www.danielkukla.com/The-Edge-Effect
I still have a few images to add and also hope to start posting some more "day in the life" images on my blog in the next week. Stay tuned.
For those who pledged for the print reward, I will be contacting you in the near future with a selection of images to choose from.
I'm back in NYC after an incredible experience at Joshua Tree. I feel so fortunate to have had this experience and would not have been able to do it without your support. I spend most of my time hiking, exploring, photographing, and poking around in the wilderness. The time in solitude provided such a rare opportunity to give completely into my curiosity and experiment with new ideas in such a beautiful and surreal place. I'm now in the process of scanning and editing the film and if all goes well I should have my images from the park on my website by the end of April. For those who pledged for the polaroid reward, your image is on it's way this week. And for those who pledged for a print reward, I will be sending out a small edit of my work in the next couple weeks and from here you can choose the image you like best. I will keep you updated with the progress of the work over the next few months.
