We need your help funding the renovation of our catering trailer!

We are sisters Leira V. Satlof and Silvia Mazzone-Clementi. We have a dream, to open a sexy little farm-to-trailer mobile food venture! We call it Nature's Serving, because what ever Mother Nature has ready to eat, we will be featuring it on our Mediterranean-influenced menu. Living in beautiful Humboldt County, working the land, and dedicated to serving the best natural plate of quick-serve food on the North Coast, Nature’s Serving: World Food, Fast! is soon to become a reality. We plan to open at the Humboldt County Fair in Ferndale, California this August.

We have leased the land and a place to live. We have purchased the catering trailer and begun renovations. We have purchased a 15 passenger diesel van to pull the trailer. We have secured a commissary kitchen. We have developed the menu which will feature handmade pita and falafel as the center of an otherwise seasonal menu. And now we have run out of our own financial resources.

Of course we started this adventure by creating a bang up business plan, and went out to secure the $50K we need to open and operate the first year. People were very responsive, thought we had a great idea and a sound business plan to make it work. We got lots of good advice, but not cash.

Then we tried to land a Small Business Administration loan. That was also a great learning process. They also thought we were on the right track, and were very encouraging. And we were not successful in this round. 

Now, we are running out of time. We really want to open at the Humboldt County Fair this August. It will be such a great way to introduce ourselves to the county! But to do that we need to finish the renovations on the trailer, get some inspections and permits signed off, and get testing!

So while we figure out where the rest of the money is coming from (and we are working hard on that, with very good prospects), we are turning to you! our friends in the 99%.

We need $1,000 to finish the gasline and hood installation, $4,000 to purchase the appliances, and $2000 for new tires and a hitch upgrade for the Van (which pulls the trailer). At that point the trailer will be ready to pass inspection and be ready for the road. Then, we can finish testing our recipes in the rig and turn our attention to the many other details of Nature's Serving! 

If you can help us with this kickstarter campaign, you will keep us moving forward toward a goal we are determined to achieve. You will lower the amount of money we will have to seek in loans, and you will put a HUGE smile on our face.
