Since late 2008, my husband and I, through our company nextPix Productions, has supported Nicole Karsin’s unwavering commitment to the people of Columbia through her documentary film, We Women Warriors. Along the way she and the three core women of her film, Flor, Dora, and Ludis, have touched the lives of so many. The themes of reconciliation, non-violent community action, belief in humanity, dignity, social justice, and many others are powerfully told.

There is more to be told and shared however and this is where your support for the next phase of the film becomes vitally important. This phase is distribution and the greatest outcome to come from it, in my opinion, is education and action. I recently read a quote associated with Paolo Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” which I think is very appropriate when thinking about how Nicole’s film can serve a wider audience through education – whether the venues be theaters, classrooms, cafés, town halls, etc. "There is no such thing as a neutral education process. Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate the integration of generations into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity to it, or it becomes the ‘practice of freedom’, the means by which men and women deal critically with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.” (Richard Shaull on Paolo Freire). I hope you will join us in supporting the distribution of We Women Warriors and by supporting it become actively engaged in the transformation.

This project is a powerful reminder of all the struggles for social justice and human dignity that don't make the headlines, and all the wars that are not about what the powerful want us to think they're about. Thanks for helping pull back the curtain to reveal some truth and inspire critical thinking and global solidarity!
