About this project

This project came to being after I spent four months studying in Jerusalem, Galilee, Egypt, and Jordan through Brigham Young University (BYU).  For over 30 years BYU has been sending students to the Holy Land to study the Jewish and Muslim cultures and to help the students better understand the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ.  I want to tell the stories of multiple students and faculty who have spent time in the program.  Production has started here in the States, but I am raising funds to return to Jerusalem to film the city and peoples there, and to interview students who have moved to and are now studying in the Holy Land. The funds raised will allow me to return to the Holy Land and film for eight days in Jerusalem and in the Galilee.  To see what has been done go to www.elboren.blogspot.com and www.theholylandproject.com  I hope to air this documentary on BYU-TV and make it available on DVD for online retail.

Me–that's always a tough subject to write about. I do however think that there are some important things that make me who I am. I am a farm boy, I grew up on a small farm in North Idaho where I spent my days fixing fences, feeding cows, and splitting wood, it is from that background that I learned the value of hard work and finishing a project once it's been started. Another big part of who I am comes from my beliefs. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe in Christ and in modern-day prophets. I was able to serve a mission for the Church for two years in Buenos Aires, Argentina. While on my mission I learned to love different people and their stories and it is what ultimately drove me to study communications. That's the last bit that's important, I love to tell a good story and my studies help me do that. I love to find what has changed someone and let others know about it.
So, that's me at a glance. There are many other things that define who I am, but these are some of the big ones.
