The Ten of Keys, sometimes called "Release," represents the ultimate consequences of innovation and discovery -- terrifying change, uncontrollable power, majestic danger.  When you conquer all the locks and fling open all the doors, the beasts get out of their cages, and the result is a stampede.  This card has many conceptual commonalities with XVI The Tower from the Tarot proper, but the upheaval it stands for is not an incomprehensible bolt from the blue; it is something that has been engineered by human hands, something that for better or for worse could have been predicted.  Seeing this card in a reading may suggest that the outcome of a quest or project may be more than you thought you'd have to handle, or that you'll have to ride out something that you set in motion.  The difficulties that stem from fame, technology, or social liberation are associated with this card.  It should be noted, however, that the Ten of Keys is not a uniformly negative symbol (although it is very scary).  The unleashed "stampede" could result in a mushroom cloud...or it could create a world of happier, freer people.
