Kickstarter

Okay.  This is it.  The final stretch.  Only one day left on our indiegogo fundraising.  This is the final reminder I will post regarding our fundraising efforts.  It's been a bit of a roller coaster, but I've learned a lot and we got the film made.  That's all that matters in the end.

Still, there are bills to be paid and receipts to be refunded.  Thank you so much to all our kickstarter donors who renewed their pledge on indiegogo.  I really appreciate it.

I've attached some photos from the shoot.  I can't say enough about the professionalism and dedication of my cast and crew.  Everyone rocked out and worked really hard.  Everyone brought their A game -- especially the actors.  There were moments on set where it was so hard not to laugh out loud.  This is going to be one very funny movie.  I can't wait to start editing.

Thanks again to all our backers and all the encouragement you've given me in the preparation of the film.  It means a lot to me to be so supported by everyone.

Hey All!

Tomorrow's the second and last day of our shoot.  See some production pics here...

We're accepting donations on our indigogo site:  Please, if you haven't re-pledged, on indiegogo, please do so before this Tuesday.  That's when our indigogo campaign ends and that's when I'll have to pay everyone!  As I mentioned before, we adjusted our budget to match the funds that were promised on kickstarter, so we're trying to hit that same goal (or more) on indiegogo.

For those of you who've already re-pledged, my sincerest thanks!

The actors are doing an amazing job!  I can't wait to share the results with everyone!

Well, we didn't make our kickstarter fundraising goal and, as a result, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR YOUR DONATION by kickstarter or Amazon. Them's the rules. 

Rest assured, we are still going to make the film. My producer, Janet and I have revised the budget using the total of our kickstarter campaign, $4,500. We might not have all the bells and whistles that we originally planned for, but I'm certain the film will still be amazing especially given the script and our actors. 

We've decided to use another "crowd-sourcing" fundraising site this time around: Indiegogo. Here's a link to our project's page there:

You'll notice the rewards are identical to our kickstarter campaign. 

The campaign ends Wednesday, August 1.

Indiegogo is different from kickstarter in that, whatever amount we raise by the end of the campaign, we can keep -- regardless if we meet our goal. However, it would really help us if everyone who pledged on kickstarter the first time also did so on our indiegogo site before the August 1 deadline.

I am proud of our fundraising campaign. Making the pitch video was a blast and I enjoyed thinking of different ways to articulate the idea of Bakersfield, Earth to people with the updates and postings on Facebook, etc. I'm excited by the community we've created online and I'm deeply moved by your generosity. I really means a lot to me to know that so many people are rooting for me and the project. I can't say thank you enough.
