Update #19: Making Progress

Posted on April 15, 2011

We are currently burning DVDs and getting stickers printed, etc. so that we can properly thank our wonderful supporters. We have also begun to roll out new videos on the Smarthistory.org site. After all, that's what the Smarthistory/Kickstarter initiative was all about. So far, we've added 9 of the 100 videos we intend to make. Stay tuned for more.

Update #18: The Smarthistory Kickstarter Drive Ends in 42 Hours!

Posted on March 6, 2011

A very big thank you to all of our extraordinary supporters for your vision, generosity and for putting up with us during our Kickstarter drive. We have only 42 hours left. If you know someone who intended to contribute but hasn't, this is a great time to give them a gentle reminder: http://kck.st/hhRyA6

Update #17: Smarthistory is the Kickstarter Project of the Day!

Posted on March 2, 2011

The folks at Kickstarter have been just tremendous, helping us understand the platform, embracing our work, creating an amazing platform for crowd-sourced funding. We are really grateful.

We are also at 103% of our goal now—thanks to you! If support continues, we will simply have to make even more content! Thanks again.

Update #16: Thanks to you, we did it! Together we reached our goal

Posted on February 25, 2011

Huge thanks to all of our amazing contributors. Your dedication, support and excitement has meant the world to us. Kickstarter has shown us that there is a real community of support for our work and for Open Education in general. This is enormously gratifying. Thank you. We feel honored and very very lucky.

As you likely noticed, we still have 10 days left on the Kickstarter clock, if we end up getting even more contributions, well, we'll just have to make even more new content. But regardless, this campaign was a success for only one reason, you.

You'll have to excuse us now, we have some work to do, something about making 100 new videos...

I'm incredibly excited for you guys - this has been the first Kickstarter project I've really gone out and actively promoted, which was a bit uncomfortable for me, but it was worth it to get this project "kickstarted".
