A documentary film short about hearing impairment, the Cochlear Implant, boyhood and coming of age.

"The world needs more of Christopher." -- Christopher's mom.

Christopher is a 16 yr. old boy.

He is hearing impaired.  At age 3 he had surgery to receive the Cochlear Implant.

This allowed him to hear and speak, but Christopher is isolated by his hearing loss.

He is a young man struggling with this barrier without really understanding the particular ways that he is separated from the people around him.

Christopher has to expend a great deal of energy just to carry on a conversation, one on one.  In a group, he is lost.

I see challenges for Christopher, but I also see the possibility of great things to come.

The story I want to tell touches on hearing impairment, the Cochlear Implant, coming of age and boyhood.  However, the catalyst is that I know someone who is so much more than how his peers see him.

Have you ever known someone who is misunderstood by the vast majority of people?  But you know them very well and see how wonderful they are.

Christopher is a well-kept secret that I want to share.
