To all of our wonderful Kickstarter backers:

Once again, our deep thanks for your support. North ran from October 4-28 at 59E59 to some pretty wonderful reviews. We had a fantastic time in New York, were well-hosted by 59E59, and performed to smart and engaged audiences. Now we're all safely back home in Lexington, and Philadelphia, and Helena, and Columbus. And we're thinking of you, and what your generosity made possible for our work. 

There are great things on the horizon for for/word. We're vowing to keep in good touch with you as things unfold. Please keep in touch with us, too. The easiest way is by "liking" us on facebook. Over there, you can also scroll through to read some of the reviews of our work in New York.

We're 12 days away from the end of this Kickstarter campaign, and thanks to each and every one of you, we've already made it to our $8,000 minimum! Thank you! We've been bowled over by your generosity. 

But: this Kickstarter campaign is just the beginning. As we say in our video, we actually need to raise $30,000 altogether to get us to New York. So: keep giving, and keep sharing information about our campaign with your own network. We have a long way to go until we've really crossed the finish line. 

We wanted to write today to say thanks to all of our amazingly generous backers. We've been overwhelmed by your support in pledging and in sharing the word about our campaign. In fact, we're not even to the halfway point, and we're already over 80% funded for this portion of our project. Fantastic! We've got a long way to go before we get to New York, of course, but this first phase is crucial, and we're very grateful to all of you!

We also wanted to share this: both E.B. White (the subject of Little Book) and Anne Morrow Lindbergh (the subject of North) are back in the news these days, thanks to two wonderfully timely publications. Maybe the for/word company's interest in these figures is part of a trend?

First is the "elegant and evocative" The Story of Charlotte's Web by Michael Sims, a brilliant book published in 2011 about E.B. White's "eccentric life in nature." Sims's book is already in its third printing, and about to come out in paperback. (Fun fact: October 15, 2012, while we're running in New York!, will mark the 60th anniversary of the publication of Charlotte's Web.) 

Second is the final volume of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's letters and journals, entitled Against Wind and Tide: Letters and Journals 1947-1986. It will be available for purchase on April 24, and is edited by Reeve Lindbergh. North was built out of Anne Lindbergh's letters and journals, so we're very excited to discover what else she has to say as we re-imagine our plays for 59E59!
