We are trying to raise enough $ to publish our first two story/colouring books about anti-bullying.
We started making dolls at home and one day got a call about our niece experiencing problems with a bully. That launched conversation in our home about the topic and that lead to the idea of the dolls we were making becoming anti-bully dolls.
Swervin’ Mervin arrived first, then his girlfriend, Curlee Shurlee. Just Ethel came to fruition after chatting about our two main characters; we discovered we needed a heroine. JUST ETHEL was born. Ethel is my grandmothers name that -to us- means strength, creativity, leadership & above all having an outspoken nature.
Being a bully is NOT OK. *Just Ethel* is meant to start conversation, brainstorms and be a resource for anti-bullying. Bullying exists at all ages; from pre-school to adults.
Just Ethel is meant to be a resource space supplemented with our handmade dolls and colouring/story books. We are looking to raise enough capital to self publish two books. This would enable us to deliver workshops to "children of all ages" - we all know that bullying does not only exist in the school system.
