A series of installations, performances and public programs addressing issues of environmental sustainability and consumer culture.
THIS IS THE FINAL DAY FOR EVERYONE TO CONTRIBUTE TO PORTABLE PARKS IV AND CONSUMING NATURE
WE MUST MEET OUR $5,000 GOAL BY 7 PM OR WE LOSE IT ALL!
PLEASE READ OUR STORY BELOW & HELP SUPPORT OUR PROJECT:
AND THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY CONTRIBUTED!
This fall Bonnie Sherk has worked with curator Karen Moss and artists in the Otis College of Art and Design Graduate Public Practice Program on temporary installations for the Getty's Pacific Standard Time Performance and Public Art Festival at the Santa Monica Place Shopping Center, on view from January 28-Februrary 5, 2012.

You have the unique opportunity to support Bonnie Sherk’s Portable Parks IV Past/Present/Future = A.L.L.—an update on her landmark project that considers 21st century sustainability issues, as it encourages community involvement and public education. Additionally, you will also be supporting Consuming Nature, the Otis artists' installations and public programs.
Bonnie Sherk was the one of first artists ever to green urban space more than 40 years ago. For her Portable Parks I-III (1970) she imported trees, sod, picnic tables and live animals to the streets of downtown San Francisco.

Then she created The Farm at the crossroads of the 101 freeway and four neighborhoods. Her ongoing, community-engaged, eco-art education project A Living Library (A.L.L.) has reached national and international audiences.

We have great supporters including Armstrong Garden Centers, the City of Santa Monica, Sakaida Nursery, Print-A-Sign, Santa Monica Place, Macerich but right now every donation counts to help meet our goal and each has a very cool (and green) reward to show you our appreciation.
THANKS FOR SUPPORTING OUR PROJECT!
