CARS & TRUCKS are a rock group from the Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area. They've spent time in bands like The Dames, Farewell Tour, Seed Math, Words to a Film Score, and others.

The first two Cars & Trucks albums were made the old-fashioned way: by going into ridiculous debt. This time around, C&T want to ask their fans, friends, family, and stalkers to be a part of the process from the start, to make the album-making experience something special and unique that the band and fans can be a part of and enjoy from top to bottom. 

The third C&T album is written. It just needs to be recorded and replicated. What the band would like from you is a donation of cash -- a preorder, if you will -- so that this process can be done quickly and well. Rather than recording and then sitting around trying to scrape the dough together to release an album, the band would like to ask YOU to throw some cash at them TODAY in return for a guaranteed copy of the hand-numbered album on SUPER-SWEET collectible vinyl with download. With your name in the credits! You'll get that for one little old twenty-spot. And if you're able to spend a bit more, the band has offered up a veritable SHITLOAD of other things you can acquire, from home demo recordings to beard shavings to unique art to concerts in your goddamned HOUSE. If you're willing to contribute to the cause, Cars & Trucks is willing to show you oodles of gratitude. Oodles!

(NOTE: C&T ain't makin' CD's, this time around. Dead medium, folks! But the idea is, even if you're not into vinyl, you still get a cool collectible item, and you can listen to the high-quality mp3's on your device of choice.) (Maybe we'll even figure out a way to include FLAC's for people who want those, too.)

Check out the levels over there on the right. Contribute what you can. Know that, at the end of the process, you will have taken part in a great new modern way of music-making, one in which a record label isn't needed, one in which the supporters of the musicians directly offer that support in their own preferred way. It's a beautiful thing! 

(NOTE: if the amount raised goes over the amount set by the band -- which would be AWESOME -- all of that money will go to the same project, and will allow the band to make the whole thing that much better. Better quality, more attention to detail, better packaging, cooler sounds, what have you -- your money will go to GOOD use.)

That's about all you need to know. If you have any reservations about buying an album sound unheard, just know that the band thinks the album could easily turn out to be their best one, and that it continues their tradition of making plain old hooky rock tunes. (It's also looking like it may have tons of crazy space-out guitar solos and elongated songs with multiple sections. Just you wait.)

The album (and any of the additional goodies you wish to tack on via the corresponding levels) is on track for a May release, but this may need to change, depending on various factors. Regardless, when the album is released, you will be able to pick it up at the release show the band will have, or your items will be shipped to you, or other arrangements can be made.
