Elena Perlino (b.1972) grew up in Piedmont, Italy. She graduated with a degree in History and Cinema from the University of Turin and attended at Reflexions Masterclass in Paris.

She was selected as a Nominee for Magnum Emergency Fund 2011.

Cristiana Giordano is an Assistant Professor in the department of Anthropology at the University of California, Davis. She earned her degree at UC Berkeley, and has done extensive research on human trafficking, mental health and foreign migration in Italy.
