"One Way" is a feature film shooting in Lincoln, Nebraska next month. Check out our video for more information and a sneak peak!

What is One Way?

One Way follows the character of Stephen, a twenty-five year old trapped in the vices of habit. Returning home from a business trip, Stephen finds that he quickly settles into his old ways and old relationships only to find himself eager for a way out.

This comedy/drama explores family, betrayal, love and love lost. On the precipice of disaster there is always hope.

When is One Way?

One Way goes into principal photography next month in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are shooting the film over a period of two weeks (May 20 - June 1) with some additional photography taking place in Los Angeles in mid-June.

We plan on editing the film over the summer, and having a finished product by the end of August at which time we will start submitting One Way to a variety of film festivals.

Who is One Way?

One Way features actors from all over the country including Chicago, Los Angeles and Lincoln, Nebraska. Watch the video and get to know us a little better!

Writer/director, Alexander Jeffery, has been making films for a few years now and is currently on the festival circuit with his short film Love, At Last which has been fortunate enough to receive the Rising Star in Filmmaking Award at the 2012 Canada International Film Festival and the Golden Oosik Award for "Best Super Short" at the 2011 Anchorage International Film Festival.

The director of photography, Brian Watt, is currently getting his master's degree in Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. However, growing up in the world of professional photography, lighting a scene is no strange territory to Brian. He received Death Grip Electric's Award for Killer Cinematography at the 2011 Omaha Film Festival.

Katie Williams is an undergraduate Film and New Media candidate at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Amidst her heavy course load, 10 jobs, 4000 credit hours and a final project of her own, she is producing One Way before heading to Vancouver for a graduate degree in animation.

Why is One Way? (Or, how can we make this for $6,000?)

Feature films (even those of the independent variety) tend to cost upwards of $100,000 to make. So how can we do this for $6,000? The simple answer is dedication. We are working with a group of people so willing to donate their time and every piece of equipment they have to make this thing happen. What should cost us an arm and a leg is in fact just costing us a handshake and smile. Everyone involved lives to tell stories, and the fact that we can all come together and do this is a blessing. So why do we need money at all? Unfortunately the body runs on food and water, and I'm a firm believer that if people are donating their time they shouldn't worry about providing their own lunch and dinner. So we have to factor in the cost of feeding our cast and crew for 2 weeks straight which may get a little pricey. Afterwards, the remaining funds will get us through post-production in Los Angeles, costs which will include Visual Effects, Color Timing and Sound Mixing.
