About this project
Publisher/writer Dennis Mallonee, and world-renowned artist Mark Beachum are teaming up to bring you the all-new adventures of the SENSATIONAL G-GIRL!
This project covers funding for production and advertising costs for SENSATIONAL G-GIRL #1, a full-color comic book from Heroic Publishing, featuring a book-length, 24 page G-Girl adventure. The first issue is currently scheduled for a Spring 2011 release, which means production needs to get going in earnest right away.
The Sensational G-Girl is the newest addition to the world of FLARE and the LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS. A special six-page preview G-Girl adventure appears in the just-released FLARE ANNUAL #3. You can see several of those pages at www.heroicpub.com/previews/fz03.php
G-Girl's real name is Billi Jayne Jensen (aka "Beej"). She's a scion of the Olympian gods, a great-granddaughter of Zeus himself. She's a third-generation superhero. Her granddaughter was the original Giant, her father was Giant's successor, and even her mother (Nemesis Girl) and twin "brother" Will (the current Giant) have superhero identies of their own. Beej is extremely strong, incredibly tough, remarkably athletic, and has some limited ability to channel electrical energies through her magical G-shaped costume.
The series is essentially a coming-of-age adventure combined with a classic quest. The twist to it is that Billi Jayne is coming of age in a way she definitely didn't expect. Not only has her mom been kidnapped by one of the world's worst bad guys, there was something else of great importance stolen from her that she desperately needs to recover.
Over the course of what's contemplated as a 25-issue maxi-series, G-Girl's adventures will take her from the streets of San Francisco, to the north of England, to the icy wastelands of Ultima Thule, even into the realms of Olympus and Asgard, and all the way to the Jensen back yard.
