Before the NFL, before College, before High School and Junior High, youth football players learn the love of the game and what it takes to win.
It takes commitment. It takes discipline. It takes hard work. It takes pride.
It is undeniable that football has become America’s favorite sport. Breaking football down to its core, it all begins with the dreams and aspirations of a young boys desire to play America's biggest game with the dream of one day to play in the NFL. With enough heart and passion to fill a football stadium, these kids have the work ethic and drive of men twice their age. This virtually unexplored world will be discovered through our feature length documentary.
In the vein of Hoop Dreams and The Street Stop Here, but with the cinematic heart of Remember the Titans and Friday Night Lights, we’ll follow a youth football season through the eyes of a few hard hitting 11-year-old Ridglea Roughneck’s as they endure exhausting summer practices in 100 + degree heat, balance football and school, deal with parental demands and family life, as well as bond with fellow teammates, all with one goal, to win this year’s Youth Football "Super Bowl", their final shot at a title narrowly missed last year.
There are currently 3.4 million children playing youth football in America, spread over countless leagues across the country. Our documentary will set out to explore the passion, bravery, hardships, and intense nature of the undiscovered world of "pee-wee" football in the heart of football country...Texas!
Spending an entire season filming these young athletes, we will get into the heart and soul of what football means to the players, their families, the coaches and the community that supports them all.

Through the eyes of our young players, this documentary will seek to answer these questions and more. In a fun and fast paced, action packed, intense, feature length documentary, we will get into the crux of what makes America's game so great. These young aspiring pro-athletes are infectious with their "dream big" and "win at all costs" attitude. There is a lot we can learn from them.

WHAT DO WE NEED HELP WITH?
POST PRODUCTION: We have been fortunate to have the bare minimum in funding to follow the team for the entire season, but in order to complete this daunting task of editing down hundreds of hours of footage into a riveting hour and a half long film, we desperately need money for all things post-production. This includes and not limited to: money for our editor and post production team and equipment, sound design, music and music rights, and film festival submission costs.

Is my pledge amount publicly displayed?
No. Only you and the project creator will be able to see your pledge amount.
- If I donate, when can I redeem my reward? All perks, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will contact you to start the process. The screening, picture books and dvds etc. can only happen after the film is completed, so this will take a bit of time.
- What if I don’t want the reward, I just want to support? No problem, there is a button that you can select if you don’t want the reward.
- Can we exceed the goal? YES! This would truly be amazing. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. In all reality we need far more than the goal we have set, but with Kickstarter being all or nothing we don't want to go too high. Exceeding our goal would be a dream come true!
- Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made? YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new reward.
- Can I give my reward to someone else as a gift? YES! That’s very sweet of you. If you would like to donate to the film, but give your reward to someone as a gift, go through all the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided). We will request things like your address at that time. If you’re giving your reward as a gift, simply include the recipient’s information, and any note you’d like to include. We’ll make sure they get it!
- What happens if the money isn’t raised in time? If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, your card isn’t charged. We want to avoid this scenario at all costs!
- Who does the money go to? Every penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter’s involvement) will go directly to THE ROUGHNECK'S movie budget--your money goes directly to the funding of this film!
- I'm not in the US. Can I still pledge to projects? Yes. You can pledge from anywhere. Even Canada!

Director/ Producer Richard Cameron White is an independent film maker from Traverse City, Michigan and owner of RCW Pictures. He studied film at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Since graduating Cameron has written, produced, and directed "The Sleeping Bear" (which raised $11,000 for production through Kickstarter) a feature length film soon to be seen in upcoming film festivals. Cameron has also shot, edited and produced EPK's (Electronic Press Kits) for the Will Ferrell film "Everything Must Go" and the up-coming Channing Tatum film, "Ten Year". He currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
Co-Producer/UPM Chris Cook is a independent film producer from Austin, Texas. He studied at Texas State University. Since graduating he has been on the production teams of such films as: "The Other Guys", "Everything Must Go" and soon to be seen "Casa De Mi Padre", as well as TV shows like; "Entourage", "Justified" and "Southland". Chris currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Director of Photography Ryan Hase is from St. Paul, Minnesota. Ryan also studied film and photography at Full Sail University. Ryan has been shooting commercials, feature films, and music videos in Los Angeles for the past 3 years.
