I'm Haley Dreis, a singer-songwriter from Columbia, SC. For those of you tuning in for the first time, I've been happily writing my own music over the past two years. I released my first album, "Beautiful To Me" in 2009. It allowed me to be part of some wonderful adventures touring across the Southeast with Jay Clifford (formerly of Jump Little Children), and performing alongside national acts We the Kings and Tonic. It made me realize that I would love to do nothing more than create and deliver music for the rest of my life - for me and you.

I'm excited to announce that I'll be recording my second record! It will be an EP of 7 carefully crafted and selected songs and I'll be working with some stellar musicians and producers in the industry.

I'll be working with Josh Kaler and Jay Clifford at Hello Telescope studios in Charleston, SC (http://hellotelescope.com), who recently recorded William Fitzsimmons' upcoming record. I'll also be recording 2 of my tracks with Kenny McWilliams and Eric McCoy at Archer Avenue Studios in Columbia, SC.

I'm not sure if you know this, but I'm an independent artist. That means I do this all by myself! That includes funding my record. I'm also a full-time college student at University of South Carolina, so that expense is gonna be really tough for me (nearly impossible?)

Unfortunately, it's incredibly expensive to record an album - probably more than you expect! $5,000 to be exact. Here are my costs: I'll be paying for time in the studio, musicians, producers, mixing, mastering, and printing the first 1,000 copies of my record - phew! But hey, the good news is you're here and we can do this together :-)
