About this project
It's been five years since the release of 2006's The Pool Table Matter EP, Jason's last album. Since then, he's written enough songs to populate five or six records, but found a way to dwindle it down to two: a new full-length album and a short six-song EP.
The singer-songwriter, now based in New York City, returned to Houston and producer MD Thompson of Ivory Tower Realizations to record Streaming the Mains and the November Sessions EP, two discs of 16 new originals highlighting the growth and maturation of Jason as a singer-songwriter. While November Sessions offers a collection of polished singer-songwriter gems, Streaming the Mains gives fans of Jason's music an opportunity to hear the artist in a new light. With heavy nods to seventies-era Paul Simon and Paul McCartney, early Beatles records, and a touch of modern rock that stretches Jason's abilities as an artist further than ever before, there is something old and new for lovers of all music in Jason's new full-length release.
For the first time ever, even while the finishing touches are still being applied to these brand new albums, you can pre-order Jason's new records while also assisting in funding their production, distribution and promotion. Jason Consolacion is a New York-based singer-songwriter who is catching the ear of an expanding audience. A graduate of Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and always a dedicated student of all types of music, Jason has fused his love of jazz, folk, rock, r&b, funk and pop into an eclectic concoction of acoustic pop.
His influences include such personalities as Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, The Beatles, Herbie Hancock, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, The Police, Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Eric Clapton, and Elvis Presley.
Playing both solo acoustic and with his Citizens for Boysenberry Jam Band, Jason has played The Cutting Room, The Knitting Factory, Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene's Grocery, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Cornelia Street Cafe, Caffe Vivaldi, Cherry Lane Theatre, and 13th Street Repertory in New York; Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles; The Asgard, Sky Bar, and The Burren in Cambridge/Boston; the SXSW Music Festival in Austin (2005, 2009 & 2010); and McGonigel's Mucky Duck, Ovation's Jazz Club, Anderson Fair, Main Street Crossing, and The Artery in Houston.
Jason's discography includes the EP "Uncertain Air" (2003), two full-length albums titled "Everything's OK" (2004) and "Acoustic Boogaloo" (2005), and "The Pool Table Matter" EP (2006) – all of which are available on iTunes. He is currently working on two new albums with all-new material: the "November Sessions" EP and the full-length album "Streaming the Mains", both of which will be released this December.
