Production Phase Fully FUNDED! - New GOAL = Finishing Costs
Thank you for the incredible demonstration of support for this film project. The Anonymous People has met and exceeded our initial fund raising goal of $45,000. This will cover all of the remaining production expenses for the incredible events taking place next month across the country, as well as additional interviews!
While you have been busy this past month emailin', tweetin', facebookin', and backin' this project. We have been busy writing and submitting grant applications to foundations to assist with the finishing costs of the film so we can bring it to a screen near you soon. These costs include:
- Editing with Emmy Award Winning Editor, Jeff Reilly (http://facefirstfilms.com/)
- An Original Musical Score
- Graphics and Visual Effects
- Supplemental Footage and Image Licensing
- Errors and Omission Insurance
We have budgeted a big number for all these combined costs = $112,200.00 (the majority going toward the licensing of copyrighted video and music content for inclusion in the film). We never expected to be able to cover these costs with this campaign, but as a result of the campaign we have many promising foundation leads that do philanthropy in the independent film world!
That being said, the quicker we raise the money needed to finish the full movie the quicker the film comes out in 2013!
One non-profit organization has already stepped up to the plate to make a big dent in these costs. Yesterday we received an astounding pledge from The Connecticut Community of Addiction Recovery (CCAR) for $10,000!!!
CCAR is an organization that navigated the early tumultuous waters of this NEW RECOVERY MOVEMENT and blazed a trail for incredible sweeping changes over the last 15+ years that is a foundational element to this story. They are now in a position to blaze a trail to see this film completed. I hope you will join them over the last couple days on this campaign to help us finish strong and make an even larger dent in the costs needed to make A KICK ASS MOVIE!
We just received our marching orders in an email from one of the stars of the film, and a person whose transformational work largely inspired this project:

No small order! But the recovery story is one of those stories that has that power! I hope you will continue to back and outreach this project with anyone and everyone you know before Sunday at Midnight so we can head into Post-Production with a head of steam.

This really makes me happy to see the goal reached (and exceeded). The strength of the recovery community is growing and real.
I truly believe in my heart this movie is going to make a significant impact and help a lot of individuals in recovery, their family members, friends and allies to be a part of this growing movement to speak out on the issues we all care about.
