The Village Building Convergence is a weeklong event focused on creating community gathering places in Olympia. We like to call this placemaking, the important process of transforming our shared spaces into meaningful places. Placemaking projects are envisioned, planned and created by neighbors and community members and help lay the foundation for strong, nourishing relationships and beautification of the places we call home.

This year's VBC includes a community cob-building project, a teaching kitchen focused on traditional foods and local food, table and chair woodworking, trailblazing and wild community center visioning, presentations by incredible local and regional community leaders, workshops workshops workshops (raw chocolate creation, a village skillshare, whole pig butchery, raw food, wildcrafting, kraut & kimchee, Tai Ji and much much more!), live music and dancing, local art...the list goes on! We are asking for your support to help make this event a sustainable success. Donations will allow us to offer many incredible workshops and bring skilled presenters for little or no cost to villagers during the course of the VBC. As an aspiring village we are also privileged to nourish our village builders! Donations also fund healthy local food, sustainably grown and humanely raised.

The VBC is a unique event that helps us show up for each other as a community. We practice being with each other, building and cooking with local materials in a way that creates community, sharing our skills and strengthening relationships that enrich our lives. We give each other hope for an ever more beautiful and connected future, let's build!

$500 - Will allow us to purchase some materials for building projects, copy materials for publicity and purchase some food for the meals throughout the week.

$750 - Will allow us to offer honoraria and compensation to presenters, offer music and entertainment and purchase local/organic food for volunteers.
