About this project

I have a music based pilot I want to shoot, with several rock star caliber talent signed on to be involved. This show is different in that the scenario, a dinner together makes the artist more comfortable to reveal their true self. Plus the audience will see the non verbal exchanges over breaking bread between the stars who may or may not like each other - or the food they ordered.

I need the money to hire my trustworthy camera men, get a lighting package, and possibly a permit for the shoot. It should be able to be brought in on a very low budget, as I have been shooting this way for years. Some money will go towards a webmaster/new media expert who will create a special space for it on my new site ALI ON THE AIR, as well as providing it to Urb.com, Funny Or Die, and other websites I write and vlog for.

I have several restaurant possibilities lined up and each week will be a theme, i.e. vegan restaurant with Ian Mackaye, Moby, Fiona Apple and Murs. Sushi with Cut Chemist, Datarock and the Raveonettes. Tex Mex with Kings Of Leon, Eagles of Death Metal and Tenacious D., etc.

Ali MacLean is a writer and a TV and radio host in Los Angeles, known as Ali On The Air.

She has been on-air talent, written, and produced for MTV, VH-1, ABC, Fox, Indie 103.1FM radio, Little Radio, Vlaze TV and Sirius Radio. Having worked in music journalism for over 7 years, she has interviewed hundreds of bands and celebrities.

A former stand up and sketch comedian, Ali was a recurring player on HBO's Mr. Show and VH1's Ill-Ustrated and wrote for several TV comedies, including Kathy Griffin's So Called Reality, Celebrity Death Match, MTV's Buzzkill and VH1's Random Play.

Ali currently works covering music, fashion and nightlife for Urb TV, Crave Online, and Antiquiet TV as well as for her own site, ALI ON THE AIR. She was recently published in the book American Dream, by Nation Books. A book based on her music column, Sets In The City, is forthcoming.
