If you're not familiar with Century Guild, we specialize in Art Nouveau and Secessionist artists, and since 1999 we have placed artworks in top collections worldwide. Works previously in our inventory now reside in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Last October saw the opening of a dedicated exhibition space in Chicago.
For the second exhibition in the Century Guild gallery in Chicago, we are presenting rare erotic works on paper by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, pinnacles of Art Nouveau by Peter Behrens and Ernst Wahliss, decadent posters from the 1880s through the 1920s (on everything from fashion to S&M literature), and contemporary works by Symbolist painter Gail Potocki, Expressionist Dave McKean, and fetish photography icon Steve Diet Goedde.
Thanks to Kickstarter, we were able to boost our first exhibition catalog for our Grand Guignol show from 16 to 48 pages, and cram it full of great, rare academic information and fantastic never-before-seen artworks. We are setting the goal on here so that we can do a 16 page catalog... but if the interest is there and we exceed our goal, we can put a more thorough book together and include ALL the rare artworks from the exhibition!
But that all has to do with how well we can spread the word---
